Hello, all! Apologies for my complete and total absence from this blog… to say I haven’t been tumbling on my normal page would be a lie, I’ve simply caught a case of the lazy that lasted an entire semester… that’s an enthralling tale for later so ANYway. Do you have anything you’d like to submit or have me research? Any comments, questions, concerns over the content of the blog or just plain old me?
I’ll hopefully be posting at least one story per week if I can manage to simply log in and post what I’m currently reading or schooling up on in the world of do-wellers and peaceful stuffs. I hope you all are doing fabulously and you keep faith in what is coming up for this page.
*Current read is 28: Stories of AIDS in Africa by Stephanie Nolen, if you are into the public health-y, personal anecdotal, emotional, factual, “inside details” type of read than you should pick up a copy like I just did today! I’m feeling as though the HIV/AIDS pandemic is something I want to hone in on for my future career (along with maternal and child nutrition) and thus I stumbled upon this book. Let me know what you guys think if you’ve read it, or what you think once you’re finished.
Later!
Blood:Water mission. I figure the video is fairly succinct.
Hey guys,
Just wanting to bring to your attention one of our special CKF friends Gilly.
She is raising money for our Soksan International School buy chopping off all of her lovely locks! She hopes to raise $6000 by the time her high school graduation comes around, where she will be showing off her new ‘do’ for the first time. We think she is really brave & wonderful & it would be fantastic if any of you would like to show her some support and send a little donation her way.
Her is her fundraising website, you can donate online!
Don’t forget every little bit helps her towards her $6000 goal!

A non-profit organization started by a Georgetown University grad at the age of 22, which aims to create sanitation projects and increase the availability of clean water.
884 million people lack access to clean water, something that is undoubtedly a basic human right. Death from drinking dirty water is more of a problem than it should be, and such basic initiatives that challenge this disparity are absolutely crucial.

Imagine what we could do if progress was our goal. Imagine what we could be if we focused on maximizing humanity.

While reading Khaled Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns, a set paragraph really hit me because of the bold truth behind it.
“A society has no chance of success if its women are uneducated…”
Women are an asset to society, plain and simple. I firmly believe that if more women are as determined as many are today, there will be more stability and integrity in various facets of power and representation.
I feel an honest connection to this cause, and I hope you guys feel something similar in looking through the website and facts they provide. This is not just an “issue for women.” This effects every single one of us in multiple ways, direct and indirect.
Sorry for the late response! But here are a few:

I’ll post more later on for sure.
